COVID -19 Measures and operation policies of the hotel

At Thassos Grand Resort   Hotel, Guest & Stay­ health, safety and security have been values of great importance since our very ‑1rst day of operation. As Greece recovers from the recent COVID-19 pandemic which has reacted   the whole universe, we are currently working on the next day and the hotel openings taking into consideration new habits and rules that everyone should follow from now on. Following government restrictions and recommendations, we have implemented our internal H&S protocol in order to guarantee our Guests’ and Associates’ health and safety. Our Management Team and our Group Quality Department has extensive experience and updated knowledge applying HACCP SYSTEM   protocols over the past years and thus, you can trust us your valuable holidays: Just Travel with Safety!

The hotel has developed an Action Plan and a Suspected

Throughout the hotel Case Management Plan with the hotel Manager as the designated lead.

  • Cooperation with a secondary health care provider with a designated collaborating physician.
  • All health measures that have been announced by EODY (National Public Health Organization eody.gov.gr/en/) are observed.

COVID-19 RECOVERY & 2020 OPENING PLAN

  • Our Front Office Team is perfectly trained to welcome and guide you.
  • The floor is clearly marked with signage indicating where you should stand when waiting at the Front Office Desk.
  • Social distancing is expected at all times.

WELCOME

Reception

  • Mandatory extension of check out – check in window.

Check-in time will be at 15:00 and check-out time at 11:00 in order to secure proper room cleaning and disinfection.

  • Prohibition of entry into guest-rooms to non-residents
  • Disinfection of the surfaces in reception and the room key cards.
  • Customers are offered electronic payment of accommodation expenses (credit card, e-banking).
  • Luggage handling upon customer request.

Installation of a Plexiglas   separator in the reception area.

  • Room Key Cards will be sanitized and placed in a protective case.
  • You are strongly encouraged to avoid using cash – please prefer our contactless POS!
  • Non-essential items such as decorative pillows, stationery, magazines will be removed for your own safety.. Maintenance in rooms will be carried out upon call and only when guests are not in room. Guests are encouraged to avoid using the lift‑ and taking the stairs instead.
  • Our guests are encouraged to use only their room’s WC and not public WCs.

Rooms

  • Removal of decorative objects, leaflets, coffee machines and kettles to minimize the surfaces of frequent contact in the rooms.
  • Cleaning of the room during the guests’ stay will be less frequent and upon the customer’s request.
  • The evening preparation of a room which includes changing the linen and towels will only be available upon the customer’s request.
  • For better ventilation, the air conditioning will remain switched on even when the balcony door is open.
  • Cleaning of the rooms is done according to official protocols and is followed by a steam disinfection.
  • Our rooms provided to our guests will be properly cleaned and disinfected.
  • Room cleaning will be provided only upon request

Public spaces

  • Adherence to the increased cleaning and disinfection protocol with emphasis on surfaces of frequent contact.
  • Installation of stations with antiseptic solution for dry hand sanitization.
  • Signage for the adherence to all the health instructions of EODY by hotel guests.
  • Rearrangement of hotel furniture to avoid overcrowding.

Dining Services

  • The operating health protocols of stores (restaurants, bars) are followed.
  • Upon the receipt, storage and preparation of food we comply with a certified HACCP system.
  • A modified operation of the buffet with a personalized service and use of Plexiglas dividers to avoid contact of the customer with the food.
  • Adherence to measures to avoid overcrowding and congestion in restaurants.
  • Ability to install tables and seats in an outdoor area if needed.
  • All our F&B outlets are strictly following HACCP Protocol. • Hands should be sanitized when entering an outlet. • Tables’ set-up is following social distancing guidelines. • All buffet restaurants will be re-organized and managed by our cooks.
  • Bars will be re-organized in order to secure social distancing
  • Public areas incl. public WCs will be frequently cleaned and sanitized
  • Our sun loungers will be arranged at 1.5m distance around the pools and the beach.
  • Sun loungers will be sanitized every evening.

Swimming Pool

  • Operation of the facilities of the swimming pool with all the planned health and safety measures.
  • According to current government regulations, the 1 person per 5 sq. m ratio should be enforced at all times at the pools.
  • Towel use is mandatory.
  • PH and chlorine levels will be monitored frequently in order to guarantee 24/7 pool sanitization.
  • Spa facilities (interior pool, Hammam, sauna, Jacuzzi) will not be operating.
  • Club Cars will be frequently sanitized by our Staff­, who will be wearing masks and gloves.

Beach

  • Operation of the beach facilities with all the planned health and safety measures.
  • We are operating an open-air

Our valuable personnel have aended COVID-19 training lessons and have been provided with training   certifications by a reputable H&S Organization, Our Staff ­will be examined by an occupational health doctor at all times. Our Staff­ will make use of Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

Due to the aggravating procedures and strict measures in Greece against the spread of COVID-19, many of our customers cancel their reservations. We understand that this is due to the general uncertainty about the development of the pandemic and the restrictive measures imposed by individual countries. The number of cancelations for September is growing daily, which makes the hotel operation pointless during that month. Therefore, our company’s management decided to close THASSOS GRAND RESORT on September 1st. For those of our customers who have not yet canceled their reservations during September, we offer to move their reservations in August with the same terms and at no additional cost. We also offer the possibility to issue vouchers for a pre-paid amount valid for the next season.
